Project Two:Storytelling
Project
Two: Storytelling
Description:
For this project we will separate into four
groups of four/five people. This project
will also include a 4D element in the form of video. Your team will discuss and decide on a story
you would like to depict. The story
should be something well known like a fairytale, a fable, a poem or book. Then, you will construct a series of forms
that will be characters in a short stop-motion film that depicts an
event/events from the story or fairytale you have chosen. The main characters should be
non-representational forms, i.e-shapes, but you can use representational props
and settings. The video must be at least
30 seconds in length.
Drawings:
Once you
have decided on a story you should begin drawing and sketching ideas for the
forms you will need to create. Have a
series of drawings ready by Monday so we can talk about how you might construct
the forms.
Objectives:
To continue working with the
elements and principles of design and gain knowledge in communicating a message
to a viewer. To learn the benefits of
incorporating different media, such as video, into your sculpture. Also, to stimulate creative thinking through
storytelling.
